Jovino Jamel Roy 25 Years For Murder of Michael Wardrobe

Jovino Jamel Roy, 24, of Copperas Cove, pleaded guilty to the murder of Michael Wardrobe and a judge sentenced him to 25 years.

According to an affidavit, Jovino Jamel Roy shot Michael Wardrobe five times on March 23, 2020, at a home in the 3700 block of Dustin Court. Roy has been held in the Bell County Jail since March 25, 2020. He was indicted on a first-degree felony charge of murder on Aug. 12, 2020. He pleaded guilty during a hearing on Nov. 23, 2021.

Court documents show that Ashley Roy (Roy’s estranged wife at the time) began dating Michael Wardrobe toward the end of 2019. Jovino Jamel Roy was not happy about the situation and spent time harassing and threatening the couple. The harassment and threats culminated on the night of March 23, 2020, when Roy took the life of Michael Wardrobe with a firearm.
