Marvin Guy Receives Trial Date

Killeen News Now – Marvin Guy, the man accused of killing officer Charles Dinwiddie during an early morning raid, will now stand trial.

Marvin Guy, 57, has been in the Bell County jail since May 10, 2014, awaiting trial. He continues to be held in lieu of bonds totaling $4 million. He is accused of killing KPD SWAT Detective Charles “Chuck” Dinwiddie, and shooting others, during a no-knock raid on Guy’s residence on Circle M Drive on May 9, 2014. On May 8, 2023, he will stand trial for capital murder.

The state’s prosecutor, Fred Burns, dropped the death penalty in September to speed up the judicial process.
