Copperas Cove News Now – Kevin Frazier, 37-years-old, of Copperas Cove, has been identified as a suspect and charged in the murder of Destiney Jassmund Carey.
On Thursday, at 12:25 p.m., officers with the Copperas Cove Police Department were dispatched to the 1000 block of Hobby Road about a 9-1-1 hangup call. Upon arrival, an officer discovered the body of Destiney Jassmund Carey and a man named Kevin Frazier. Frazier was alive but suffering from a gunshot wound. EMS transported Frazier to Darnall Army Medical Center. On Saturday, investigators filed criminal complaints against Frazier. Two arrest warrants were issued, charging him with Murder and Aggravated Assault Against A Public Servant. Frazier was taken into custody by Fort Hood military police and transported to the Coryell County Jail. Frazier’s bond sits at $1,000,000 for the murder charge and $750,000 for the aggravated assault charge.
Destiney Jassmund Carey, 33, of Copperas Cove, was identified as the woman pronounced deceased Thursday afternoon by Justice of the Peace Bill Price following a shooting on Hobby Road.
On Thursday, April 7, at 12:25 p.m., officers with the Copperas Cove Police Department were dispatched to the 1000 block of Hobby Road about a “9-1-1 hang up call for service.” Upon arrival, an officer discovered a male and female suffering from gunshot wounds. Destiney Jassmund Carey, the female victim, was pronounced dead on the scene. The second victim, a 37-year-old man was transported to Darnall Army Medical Center. His condition is listed as stable. He remains hospitalized.
