Abkhir Abdel Neville Bryce Avenue Homicide Victim

Killeen News Now – Abkhir Abdel Neville, 21, was shot in the 200 block of Bryce Avenue and died at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center.

According to an official news release, The Killeen Police Department was dispatched to the 200 block of Bryce Avenue at 9:45 p.m Wednesday in response to calls about a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a man lying on the ground, suffering from gunshot wounds. Paramedics arrived and performed life-saving measures. An ambulance transported the victim to Carl R. Darnell medical center, where he succumbed to his injuries. The victim was Abkhir Abdel Neville. Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke pronounced him deceased at 11:26 p.m.

Social media posts began at about 9:45 p.m. with people asking others about hearing multiple shots fired near the intersection of Florence Road and Hallmark Avenue, near Bryce Avenue. Some commenters mentioned seeing police activity on Priest Drive and the presence of a life flight or law enforcement helicopter. There were no arrests made.

Dexter Washington Sentenced For Murder Of Luis Angel Santiago Jr.

Killeen News Now – A judge sentenced Dexter Washington to 25 years for the murder of 28-year-old Luis Angel Santiago Jr. on June 18, 2019.

Dexter Washington is one of four men accused of the shooting death of Luis Angel Santiago Jr. in 2019. Washington pleaded guilty and received a sentence of 25 years in prison. Three co-defendants in the case have a jury trial date later this year.

According to court documents, on Sept. 11, 2019, Dexter Washington, 49; Shyheem Jubar Washington, 23; and Eric David Madden, 24; were indicted on first-degree felony charges of murder related to the shooting death of Luis Angel Santiago Jr.

A grand jury indicted Javonte Jervar Washington, 15 years old at the time of the murder on Dec. 4, 2019. Washington is now 19 and will stand trial as an adult.

According to an affidavit, on June 18, 2019, officers with the Killeen police were dispatched to the 1900 block of Fleetwood Drive and Greengate Drive in response to calls about gunfire. Upon arrival, officers found a man with gunshot wounds to his legs and chest.
Witnesses told investigators that four black arrived in a blue Chrysler, and a verbal altercation ensued between the group and the victim. Shyheem Washington started shooting at Santiago. The other three men joined him.

A doorbell camera revealed evidence supporting witness accounts. Investigators recovered .40-caliber and 9-mm shell casings at the scene.

Officers located the Chrysler in the 3300 block of Stan Schlueter Loop at CVS. All men were in the two cars. Investigators found .40-caliber and 9-mm handguns in a Nissan and a 9-mm bullet in Dexter Washington’s pocket.

Copperas Cove News Now – Kevin Frazier, 37-years-old, of Copperas Cove, has been identified as a suspect and charged in the murder of Destiney Jassmund Carey.

On Thursday, at 12:25 p.m., officers with the Copperas Cove Police Department were dispatched to the 1000 block of Hobby Road about a 9-1-1 hangup call. Upon arrival, an officer discovered the body of Destiney Jassmund Carey and a man named Kevin Frazier. Frazier was alive but suffering from a gunshot wound. EMS transported Frazier to Darnall Army Medical Center. On Saturday, investigators filed criminal complaints against Frazier. Two arrest warrants were issued, charging him with Murder and Aggravated Assault Against A Public Servant. Frazier was taken into custody by Fort Hood military police and transported to the Coryell County Jail. Frazier’s bond sits at $1,000,000 for the murder charge and $750,000 for the aggravated assault charge.

Barnard Lnell Morrow Sentenced To Life In Prison

On Thursday, a Bell County District Court jury returned a guilty verdict in the capital murder trial of Barnard Lnell Morrow, charged with the deaths of three people found in an apartment in March of 2020.

Morrow was found guilty of killing 22-year-old Asia Cline, 23-year-old U.S. Army veteran Shaquan Markell Allred and, 23-year-old U.S. Army specialist Freddy Beningo Delacruz, Jr.

Their bodies were found in an unlocked apartment in a complex formerly known as The Summerlyn, at 4101 East Rancier on March 14, 2020. Officers went to the location in response to a call about shots fired. Initially, they found nothing. Officers returned to check a unit that was leaking water. Inside, they discovered the bodies.
Morrow became a suspect in the investigation.

A warrant was issued for his arrest. The U.S. Marshalls found Morrow in Florida and extradited him to Bell County.

Killeen News Now – The Bell County District Attorney’s Office formally charged 17-year-old Ruben Joel Fuentes Jr. with two counts of Murder while investigation the double homicide that took place on Brook Drive.

On Thursday, March 24, 2022, at approximately 2:41 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Brook Drive in response to a 911 call about a shooting. Upon arrival, they located two deceased people with gunshot wounds. Fuentes was subsequently taken into custody. Police have identified the female victim as 18-year-old Revierra Elizabeth Aline Gibson. The other victim is an unidentified 15-year-old male.

Killeen News Now – The Killeen Police Department has identified the female victim in the double homicide on Brook Drive as 18-year-old Revierra Elizabeth Aline Gibson.

Police went to a house on Brook Drive around 2:40 a.m. Thursday morning to investigate a shooting. Gibson was found inside the residence with a gunshot wound. The body of a 15-year-old boy was also located near her.

Killeen News Now – The Killeen Police Department is investigating a double homicide that occurred around 2:30 a.m. in the 600 block of Brook Drive.

The Killeen Police Department was dispatched to a residence in the 600 block of Brook Drive in response to a call about shooting. Upon arrival, officers located two people inside the residence with gunshot wounds. They were both dead. One person was taken in custody. The investigation continues.
